11 Essential Tips for Planning a Perfect Trip

Planning a good trip takes some dedication. If you want to use your time properly and feel comfortable and safe, then you will need to do some research in advance. The internet enables you to find all the information you need, but since there is so much, it is easy to get lost and confused.

In this post, we have decided to make your life easier by helping you be precise and efficient when it comes to planning your trip.

To begin with, you should know that at DENTAL VIP we can do almost everything for you.

Once you have approved the dental budget, the execution time of the treatment, defined the tentative date of travel and selected the accommodation of your preference; our administrative staff will be able to take care of the whole process, of course, as long as you approve the quote issued by our trusted tourist agent.

The only thing you will have to do is select the payment method, proceed with it and prepare your suitcase.

Even so, and all the more so if you are the one who organizes the trip, it is very important that you pay attention to the considerations that we present below; and of course, that you inform us before buying tickets and making reservations on your own, in order to verify the compatibility of your itinerary with the objectives proposed in your treatment plan.

1- Get the Diagnostic Studies in Your Country of Residence

It is very common for people to want to travel and have everything done in Venezuela, including diagnostic studies (X-rays, CT scans, photographs and clinical laboratory tests). And, although it is possible to achieve it without major limitations, it is a pretension that implies great risks and inconveniences.

The incapacity to provide you with an approximate budget and 2 or 3 additional days of stay, are some of them.

– We never recommend investing time, effort and money based on uncertainty –

However, surely the most important it is the impossibility of being able to guarantee the execution of the treatment to you. If there are surgical, anatomical and/or functional contraindications that have not been previously considered, it is very likely that the procedures will have to be aborted or postponed, making your transfer a senseless trip.

For this reason, we recommend that you carefully read the following article First Step: Basic Dental Studies Submission.

2- Always Work Based on the Agreed Dates

– It will always be essential to agree on an exact date for your treatment –

First of all, it is essential that we agree on a date for your trip. Remember that in your case time will be a critical factor and we must avoid any holiday or period of inactivity. Also, take into consideration that our Specialists travel abroad with some frequency, either for pleasure or academic reasons.

3- Make Sure You Have All the Immigration Requirements

– A valid passport, an immigration card, a round-trip air ticket and sufficient funds to pay for the trip; is all that the vast majority of people need to enter our country –

Most countries do not need a visa to travel to Venezuela. However, it is imperative that you check the validity of your passport and make sure that it still contains blank sheets.

If you visit us from the United States or Canada, you will need to process a tourist visa. In the following link you can found all the information about it Procedures and Immigration Requirements for International Patients.

4- Update Information About COVID-19

This pandemic is here to stay for a long time and each nation handles its own health protocols to prevent and control its spread.

– Certificate of Vaccination against COVID-19 –

To be able to travel and enter Venezuela, all passengers over 5 years old must present, at the time of their check-in at origin, a Vaccination Certificate (complete scheme) against COVID-19 in physical or digital format with QR code or other validation method, whose last dose has been applied at least 14 days before the date of entry into the country. If more than 270 days have elapsed since the last immunization (regular and/or booster), it must contain a new booster dose.

The passenger who does NOT present the certificate and/or who has NOT been vaccinated with the complete scheme, must present the negative result of a Molecular Test (RT-PCR), with a maximum validity of 72 hours before the arrival of the flight.

Said test must have been carried out in laboratories duly authorized by the health authorities of the country of origin, must be printed, contain the person’s data and a link or QR code that allows its validation.

Upon arrival in the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, all travelers must abide by the instructions of the health authorities, who at their discretion, may require a new PCR to be carried out at the airport of entry into the national territory.

However, the best thing to do in this regard, is to always request updated information from your travel agency and airline.

5- Select a Good Hotel for Your Accommodation

– In Caracas, there are multiple and varied accommodation options –

Consider it will be your home for one, two, or three weeks. Being comfortable and feeling safe will be a determining factor in your overall experience.

– As a couple… everything will be easier and more pleasant –

Especially if you are going to undergo oral surgery or dental implants interventions.

Although it is not essential, traveling as a couple is always much more pleasant and highly recommended from an emotional point of view. In addition, having the presence of a trusted adult who can provide you help and support in the postoperative period of some procedures, can make a big difference in your user experience.

9- Visit Your Bank and Tell Them About Your Trip Abroad

– Many banks require the prior participation of the client to be able to use their products abroad –

This simple procedure could save you a lot of headaches.

The impossibility or exaggerated delay when making international transfers, credit cards that do not work and even the blocking of bank accounts, occur with some frequency; and in some cases they have been the reason for the absolute suspension of treatment, despite having traveled and spent money on air tickets and accommodation.

10- Hire an International Medical and Travel Insurance

– There is no how to travel safe and secure! –

Although it is not a mandatory requirement to enter the country, travel insurance is a very important tool for the protection of the international traveler, since it not only protects him from medical risks; also it provides comprehensive coverage regarding baggage, legal assistance, administrative and health repatriations, reimbursement for delayed flights and other fortuitous or forceful circumstances.
